Yet another Mountaineer hoops alumnus is making his way up in the world of coaching.
James Long, a former member of the Mountaineers’ basketball team and 2017 graduate of West Virginia University, has officially been named head men’s basketball coach at WVU Tech.
Long played three seasons under Coach Bob Huggins in Morgantown, appearing in 23 games and averaging 1.4 points per contest. He then went on to join Huggins’s staff and acted as an assistant coach after graduating and spent two seasons on the bench.
He joins a WVU Tech program that is coming off of a 30-5 record and a River States Conference championship last season.
