The much-anticipated frontcourt duo of Derek Culver and Oscar Tshiebwe are receiving attention ahead of their 2019-20 season.

Tshiebwe, the second McDonald’s All-American to enroll at West Virginia as a freshman, was named the preseason All-Big 12 freshman of the year. As a senior, he led Kennedy High School to a state title while averaging 23.2 points per game. He made an impression for the first time in front of Mountaineer fans in the Gold-Blue Debut as the only player to earn a double-double in the scrimmage.

After his breakout freshman season, Culver received preseason All-Big 12 team honorable mention. In 26 games, he averaged 11.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game.
