Mountaineers fall one spot in AP Poll

WVU Men's Basketball

After a 1-1 week, WVU men’s basketball dropped one spot in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll.

The Mountaineers (18-5) now check in at No. 14 following a 15-point win over Iowa State and a 69-59 loss at Oklahoma.

Big 12 foes Baylor (No. 1) and Kansas (No. 3) keep their same spots inside the top five. West Virginia will host the Jayhawks on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum. KU won the first meeting in Lawrence, 60-53.

The Mountaineers will then travel to Waco, Texas, on Saturday to face the top-ranked Bears. The first clash of the year between No. 14 WVU and No. 1 BU is set for 4 p.m. at the Ferrell Center and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Texas Tech (No. 24) is the fourth conference team featured in the AP Poll this week.
