Tshiebwe named to NABC All-District First Team

One of West Virginia’s top freshmen has been reeling in the awards after his debut season in Morgantown, this time receiving one from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Oscar Tshiebwe was named to the NABC All-District First Team for District 8, which encompasses all schools in the Big 12 Conference. Tshiebwe is the only Mountaineer named to either the first or second teams.

Tshiebwe led the Mountaineers with 11.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game en route to receiving the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honor and a nod to the all-conference second team.

  • Jared Butler, Baylor
  • Jahmi’us Ramsey, Texas Tech
  • Oscar Tshiebwe, West Virginia

Second Team

  • Tyrese Haliburton, Iowa State
  • MaCio Teague, Baylor
  • Kristian Doolittle, Oklahoma
  • Freddie Gillespie, Baylor
  • Desmond Bane, TCU

Coach of the Year: Scott Drew, Baylor
