Non-conference schedule announced for WVU hoops

WVU Basketball

Mountaineer fans have gotten their first look at WVU men’s basketball’s 2019-2020 slate of games.

This year, WVU hoops will face off against some programs local to the region, such as Ohio State, Youngstown State and Akron. The revival of an old Big East showdown with St. John’s will also take place in New York City (whether it will be at St. John’s or at Madison Square Garden is yet to be announced).

Standing out at the beginning of the schedule is a Backyard Brawl matchup with Pitt on November 15. Since the rivalry was renewed in 2017, the Mountaineers hold a 2-0 record against the Panthers.

Finally, the non-conference schedule is closed out with a matchup against an SEC team to be announced.
