One of the many Mountaineer alumni who took their chances in the XFL will be making the jump to the NFL next season.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that former WVU safety Dravon Askew-Henry has agreed to a two-year deal with the New York Giants after a stint with the XFL’s New York Guardians. In five games with the Guardians, Askew-Henry racked up 12 total tackles as his squad went 3-2.
Askew-Henry got his first shot at the NFL in 2019, when he was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. In four preseason games, he combined for 9 tackles and a pass deflection.
The WVU alumnus spent four years in Old Gold and Blue, amassing 126 total tackles, 4 interceptions and 12 pass deflections.
