Iowa State will bring their high-volume offense to Milan Puskar Stadium to face a resilient West Virginia defense. The Cyclones are led by dual-threat quarterback Brock Purdy, who is statistically one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12 so far.
West Virginia got a boost to their offense when head coach Neal Brown announced that leading receiver Sam James would be active for this weekend’s game, after sustaining an upper body injury in their last game against Texas. They square off against the innovative Cyclone defense, which allows 348 yards per game.
Matt Campbell is in his fourth year as Iowa State’s head coach, and will face off against Brown for the first time in their respective careers.
The Mountaineers’ uniform combination
West Virginia will officially re-introduce grey into their uniform palette on Saturday, as they will don their blue helmet, grey jersey and grey pants combination. This will be the first time they’ve worn grey on the field since their game on Nov. 3, 2012 against TCU.
