The Mountaineers have some momentum heading into their open week.
Head coach Neal Brown earned his first road victory Saturday in 29-24 fashion over the Jayhawks, allowing WVU to move to 3-1 ahead of its idle week.
During his weekly conference call with reporters, Brown admitted Saturday’s win was far from perfect, but said the Mountaineers will always be excited about beating a conference team on the road.
“We didn’t play particularly well on Saturday, but that’s not something we dwell on,” Brown said. “We’re gonna correct it, but at the end of the day, we found a way to go on the road and win.”
Brown shared more thoughts on the win over Kansas, and touched on other topics, including:
- VanDarius Cowan’s suspension, which concluded over the weekend
- Injury updates on Josh Sills, Dreshun Miller and Charlie Benton
- West Virginia’s most outstanding players through the first month of the regular season
