Shuler, Isreal announce transfers from WVU football

MORGANTOWN - Two Mountaineer football players have announced this week that they’re transferring from the program.

Redshirt junior defensive end Adam Shuler and sophomore quarterback David Isreal have each announced their decisions to leave WVU.

Shuler played in 12 games for the Mountaineers last season, finishing the year with 37 tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks. He recorded 67 tackles in two seasons as a Mountaineer.

“Me and my family feel it’s best for my future to make this decision,” Shuler said on social media. “I have permission to contact other schools and will move forward from there.”

Isreal, a junior college transfer from South Carolina, made his decision to transfer public with a tweet Wednesday. He didn’t state where he’s headed.

Isreal played his freshman season at Butler Community College before transferring to WVU as a sophomore.
