West Virginia football is well into their first week of fall camp, and several of the squad’s assistant coaches met with members of the media to discuss what they have been seeing so far on the field.
One of the main questions is that of the quarterback position, for which there is not yet a starter. Quarterbacks coach Sean Reagan spoke about the current progress, stating that the starter will not be made based on his numbers, but rather his decision-making abilities.
Wide receivers coach Xavier Dye also gave an update about his position group, which he says has a lot of new depth despite having a lot of young talent.
The running back position is among the deepest and most experienced on the team, and coach Chad Scott gave an update on how they performed in the first practice in full pads.
At the time of his comments, tight ends coach Travis Trickett hadn’t yet analyzed the film of Tuesday’s practice — but from what he saw at first glance, he says he “liked the look in their eyes.”
